we've had a very busy week. cush's body finally gave in. he's running a fever right now. i'm still surprised how he managed to endure the couple of days with us always on the go. i think he started pushing his limits last monday when we had to attend a makeup taekwondo training that he missed the saturday before that. his class ends at 330 and the training on weekdays starts at 4 and ends at 530. i would've just let him miss it, but with the promotion exam that he had to pass yesterday, we felt he needed the extra session. it, of course, paid off -- like all the other things we went the extra mile for. after months of training, cush finally got his yellow belt, and we are so proud!!! kerlo says he's brains and brawns. we're very blessed.

....
before saturday, though, we've already been moving fromheretothere since thursday, the first day of the AGS fair. cush didn't have regular classes and they were free to roam around the AGS compound with an adult companion. parents didn't need to attend until the following day, the prep salu-salo, but i was part of the physical arrangement committee, which is the committee in charged of the decorations and whatnot in the classroom. i tagged ricci along. so while cush and their yaya tried all the rides and games, and i, with other mommies (and daddies) beautified the boys' classroom, ricci found herself a new-found friend (sister of one of cushie's classmates), whom she won't stop talking about for the next couple of days.
....
ken took a leave last friday for our activities. timing is such a killer. on the same day the prep salu-salo was to happen, CHILD also has a treat for the kids (and the parents!). as a supplemental "material" for their community helpers theme for the month of september, teachers tet and rosanne invited the firefighters to teach the kids to stop, drop and roll in case of fire. each kid was given the chance to splash (do you call it splash?) water from the massive hose, which is obviously in no way like watering flowers, and to ride the fire truck with its siren signaling for emergency.
while ken and ricci was having an informative morning at CHILD, i was hurrying myself to the block to get our assigned food for our potluck lunch in cushie's classroom. ken and ricci left CHILD early for us to make it in ateneo at 12 noon. we made it...with time to spare!!!
the class event lasted for three or so hours, with games for the kiddos and parents. lots of prizes were given. ricci and jian, the nff, were given "gifts" (pa'no, ayaw na lumayo sa prizes..haha!). cush and ricci wanted to try all the games and rides...more than once! laki ng kinita samin for tickets!!! the best thing about the salu-salo was it didn't rain at all. with the threat of a disastrous event posing since monday with continuous downpour, we are so thankful that the weather cooperated and gave the chance for us parents and the school to put smiles on our children's and other members of our family's faces!
....
also yesterday, saturday, we celebrated mamita's 80th in our compound. the party was catered. the chicken pastel was, in the words of my tita baby, "to die for"! the great grandkids had a short surprise number for mamita. i was so happy ricci "sort of" participated.
....
there's more to this busy week, but the kids are already calling me for dinner.
to be continued.....
